Fast
I'm chewing gum right now, is that cheating?
A lot on my mind and in my prayers. During my bus ride commute to and from work, I did have some time to focus on prayer and mediation.
I have been praying for the Leadership Team meeting Thursday night where we will be going over the budget. Please be praying too...

A Disciplined Life.
"Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever."
Disciples live disciplined lives. St. Paul's words to the young pastor Timothy spur us on to explore the disciplines. Some of us are exploring meditation, some fasting, and still others simplicity. Like Jesus and His followers over the last two millenia, we engage in these exercises to connect with the Holy Spirit that animates and shapes all of life. We allow that Spirit to be our personal trainer, training us in right living. We learn from God how to let His Light shine through us each day, how to endure hardship, and how to live simply so others may simply live.
These exercises are hard. We have already struggled to even walk into the weight room, let alone workout with the heavy weights. But here we will journal our progress, from these feeble beginings, through failures and amazing highs, to whatever humble place God wants to take us.
